With the departure of Armando Bacot, North Carolina has been desperately looking to add a center in the transfer portal. That hasn't come to fruition yet but that will almost certainly be the primary focus until the start of the 2024-25 season.

Until then, the Tar Heels will have to rely on an inexperienced group to man their frontcourt rotation. James Brown is an incoming freshman and was the no. 108 prospect in the country. He will likely be a depth piece in his first season at Chapel Hill.

Sophomore Zayden High, junior Jalen Washington, and senior Jae'Lyn Withers will have most of the playing time as things stand now. Withers and Washington were both part of the rotation at times last season and should be key pieces next season. Washington at 6'10 is the biggest player on the team and North Carolina will need his size and length to anchor the defense.

However, it would be a major surprise if the Tar Heels didn't add an upperclassmen transfer into this mix of frontcourt players.
