Forward/Wing

Ian Jackson, Drake Powell, Cade Tyson

The wing rotation is completely transformed by the Tar Heels as Harrison Ingram and Cormac Ryan will not be returning to Chapel Hill. Instead, North Carolina will rely on two freshmen and a transfer to carry the load.

Ian Jackson and Drake Powell are the two best recruits for North Carolina. Jackson chose the Tar Heels over Kentucky, Arkansas, and LSU. He is a 6'4 shooting guard and small forward who was ranked the third-best SG prospect in the country by ESPN.

Powell is ranked the tenth-best prospect in the country. A North Carolina native, Powell is another shooting guard/small forward prospect who will have a chance to start in his freshman season.

Cade Tyson is the only confirmed transfer so far for the Tar Heels. He hit 46.5% of his threes last season and will be a big part of North Carolina's offense as an experienced sharpshooter. He has the inside track to start at small forward.
