3. Center

  1. Khaman Maluach
  2. Patrick Ngongba II

Just as we saw with the guard position for Duke, there isn’t a log jam at the center spot, which is good news for freshmen Khaman Maluach and Patrick Ngongba II.

Maluach has a higher upside than Ngongba and is projected to be a top-five pick in the 2025 NBA Draft. The 7-foot-2 center has been on a show internationally as he’s played in the NBA Academy Africa in Senegal.

Last year, Maluach was named the MVP of the NBA’s Basketball Without Borders camp in Africa. He also played a role in helping South Sudan punch its ticket to the Paris Olympics this summer.

The 17-year-old Maluach has only played basketball for five years, but he has a ton of potential on both ends of the floor that Scheyer can take to the next level. Maluach has also been playing professionally in the BAL in Africa.
