Panthers fans are excited about undrafted rookie WR Jalen Coker out of Holy Cross for good reason, and one NFL insider believes he'll not only make the roster but may take 2023 second-round pick Jonathan Mingo's job as well.

Thor Nystrom, an NFL analyst for FantasyPros.com, gushed about Coker, who led college football with 15 receiving TDs last year. His excellent explosion and ability to fight for contested catches could make Bryce Young's life easier, and Coker seems to be in serious consideration to make the roster.

Mingo had 43 catches for 418 yards in his rookie campaign. I think he's a solid player, making Nystrom's statement even more significant.

NFL Insider Believes Jalen Coker Could Take Jonathan Mingo's Job

Nystrom gushes about Coker's ball skills, calling his ceiling a "reliable possession WR2 in the NFL." He posits that Mingo's role as the fourth wideout could ultimately be in jeopary.

The Panthers have a much better wide receiver group than last year. Adam Thielen is back but now Diontae Johnson and first-round pick Xavier Legette are in the fold too. Mingo projects as a better No. 4 option than the No. 2 he was last year, and I personally think it's more likely that Coker settles in around No. 5 given the draft capital used to acquire Mingo.

Either way, it's hard to deny Coker's talent and production. With 164 catches for 2,715 yards and 31 TDs over his career, I'm thrilled the Panthers landed him as an undrafted signee.

Whether or not Nystrom ultimately proves to be correct, Carolina's offense has some exciting pieces to build around. That's a win in and of itself.
