North Carolina will have its best player back for next season as fifth-year senior RJ Davis projects to be one of the best players in the nation next season. Fellow guards Elliot Cadeau and Seth Trimble are also returning but the Tar Heels will look like a very different team with several key departures and arrivals.

The two of the most significant losses were obviously Armando Bacot and Harrison Ingram. Ingram declared for the NBA Draft and was selected in the second round by the San Antonio Spurs while Bacot is trying to make an NBA roster with his Exhibit 10 contract with the Utah Jazz.

This meant that the Tar Heels lost their two best frontcourt players. Rebounding and defense immediately became a concern for coach Hubert Davis. Fortunately for UNC, they were just able to make a last-minute addition through the transfer portal that could alleviate some of these concerns.

NCAA News: F Tyzhaun Claude Commits to UNC For 2024-25 Season

Tyzhaun Claude, who spent last year with Georgia Tech, announced his commitment to UNC basketball a week after he was granted another year of eligibility by the NCAA. The 6'7 forward will provide more experience, versatility, and athleticism to the Tar Heels who will have a lot of freshmen in the rotation.

Claude spent the first two of his collegiate years at Morehead State before transferring to Western Carolina. He played his fourth year with the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets where he averaged 4.8 points and 5.2 rebounds in 17.3 minutes per game. He is a limited offensive player and a non-shooter but he projects to help North Carolina on the defensive end.
