Louisville vs. Duke Final Score Prediction for Feb. 28
By Cem Yolbulan
After a five-game winning streak, Duke came back to earth with a tough road loss against Wake Forest on Saturday. The Blue Devils fought hard all game and had their opportunities to come away with the win but had a few too many costly turnovers. Now, they will look to bounce back at home as we enter the final stretch of the season.
Fortunately for Duke, they arguably have the easiest game in the ACC on the docket as they host Louisville at Cameron Indoor Stadium on Wednesday.
Louisville vs. Duke Prediction & Preview
The Cardinals are in the midst of an abysmal season that is only getting worse with time. They suffered three straight blowout losses, with the most recent one coming at home against Notre Dame in a game they were favored by 3.5.
At 3-13 in conference play, Louisville is dead last in the ACC. Not only do they allow by far the most points in the conference, but they also have one of the worst defenses in the entire country, according to KenPom College Basketball Ratings. They have only won one away game all season.
In their previous matchup, the Blue Devils came away with the 83-69 win on the backs of double-doubles by both Mark Mitchell and Kyle Filipowski.
Once again, Duke should have no problem scoring against the Cardinals. Kyle Filipowski suffered a minor injury after the court-storming incident at Wake Forest over the weekend and his status is unknown. His unavailability would certainly make things a little more difficult for Duke, but they have plenty of talent to beat Louisville even without their star big man.
Duke needs to minimize turnovers and transition opportunities for Louisville. If they do that, the Cardinals don't have enough firepower to keep up with Duke's scoring.
My final score prediction: Duke 85 - Louisville 68
