Kyle Filipowski's NBA Rookie of the Year odds give him a slim chance of winning the award after being drafted by the Utah Jazz.

Kyle Filipowski's long draft wait finally ended on Thursday as he was selected at No. 32 by the Utah Jazz. He was one of the most productive players in college basketball and a Second-Team All-American at Duke, though his NBA Rookie of the Year betting odds don't expect that production to immediately translate.

The Jazz are a rebuilding team with tons of roster flexibility, giving Filipowski a chance to earn immediate minutes. That theoretically gives him an opportunity to compile counting stats and battle for the award, though he doesn't have the path to game-changing numbers barring a drastic turnaround.

Odds at DraftKings Sportsbook reflect that. As a result, Filipowski is tied with the 18th-best odds to win the Rookie of the Year award.

Filipowski's odds of +7500 mean a $10 bet would profit $750, carrying an implied probability of 1.32%. Unless Filipowski is thrust into the starting lineup due to injury, it's hard to picture him besting more high-usage players.

It's been a wild week for Filipowski, the subject of bizarre rumors about his girlfriend that circulated during his draft tumble. Despite falling out of the first round, he landed in an ideal spot to develop and get playing time early in his career.

He averaged 15.8 points, 8.6 rebounds, 1.2 steals, and 1.1 blocks per game over his two-year career as a Blue Devil, showing an improved three-point shot last season. Filipowski has the look of a valuable rotational player in the NBA but as these odds indicate, he's got a slim chance at best of winning Rookie of the Year.
