The 2024 NBA Draft is going to take place on June 26-27 at Barclays Center. Duke fans will be tuning in to see where their two stars Jared McCain and Kyle Filipowski will get drafted.

At the beginning of the season, Filipowski was considered a surefire lottery pick and more likely a top-10 pick in the draft. Jared McCain had a lower profile and wasn't thought of as a can't-miss draft prospect. As the year went on, however, the two followed opposite trajectories. McCain climbed all the way up to the top half of the first round while Filipowski's stock took a turn for the worse.

In the latest mock draft by Kevin O'Connor of The Ringer, Filipowski's stock has seemingly hit rock bottom. The big man is projected to be drafted by the Toronto Raptors in the second round, with the 31st overall pick.

Kyle Filipowski Plummets in Latest NBA Mock Draft

Filipowski would be an excellent fit in Toronto with his shooting and playmaking ability. The Raptors desperately need more offense and Filip can help fill that need. That aside, the fact that a big man as talented as Filipowski can fall to the second round is shocking.

The 2024 NBA Draft is considered a weak class. There aren't too many prospects with star upside at the top of the draft. If Filipowski isn't considered a first-round prospect in such a draft class is certainly disappointing.

This is obviously not a death knell for Filipowski's NBA career. Plenty of players have had successful careers after their stocks fell in the draft. Plus, this could also just be one analyst's opinion. Kevin O'Connor is certainly not the most accurate draft expert out there.

However, this shows that Filipowski has one of the biggest potential ranges for his draft spot. He could realistically be selected in the lottery or in the second round. It will be fascinating to see where the star big man ends up.
