Graham Barton Tied to Two Super Bowl Contenders Ahead of NFL Draft
By Cem Yolbulan
The 2024 NFL Draft is only three weeks away and all the NFL hopefuls will be waiting for their names to be called as early as possible. This includes a few Duke Blue Devils as well, most notably the offensive lineman Graham Barton.
Barton has been getting plenty of attention ahead of the draft after he had an incredibly impressive Pro Day. Currently projected to be a late first-round pick, Barton could see his stock rise over the next few weeks.
The two teams that have shown interest in the offensive tackle are the Green Bay Packers and the Buffalo Bills.
The Packers have been extensively linked to Barton, who said he modeled his game around Green Bay's legendary tackle David Bakhtiari. According to PFF's Mock Draft Simulator, the Packers are the most common destination for Barton. Considering the obvious positional need, Green Bay selecting Barton with their 25th overall pick makes plenty of sense.
The Bills, on the other hand, hold the 28th overall pick in the draft. If the Duke standout is still there at that point, they would be thrilled to select him as they also need help on their offensive line. The sides already had an official visit as Barton announced during the NFL Scouting Combine.
Graham Barton will certainly be the first Blue Devil to be selected in the 2024 NFL Draft. Defensive tackle DeWayne Carter will hope to be a Day 2 selection while prospects like Myles Jones, Jacob Monk, and Al Blades Jr. will be waiting to hear their names called towards the end.
