The Wake Forest Demon Deacons will look to keep their NCAA Tournament chances alive on Tuesday night against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. The Demon Deacons are coming off a tough 11-point road loss to the Virginia Tech Hokies on Saturday afternoon.

Wake Forest redshirt sophomore guard Kevin Miller scored a team-high 21 points as the Demon Deacons were outscored by 20 points in the second half against the Hokies.

Meanwhile, the Yellow Jackets won three out of their last five contests, including two straight wins over the Miami Hurricanes and the Florida State Seminoles. In their nine-point win over the Noles, Georgia Tech received good performances from Kyle Sturdivant, who scored 20 points in 26 minutes off the bench, and Baye Ndongo, who dropped 15 points and 14 rebounds.

After dropping two consecutive games to Notre Dame and Virginia Tech, the Demon Deacons must win their final two regular-season contests before heading into the ACC tourney. Below, we’ll break down this pivotal matchup between Wake Forest and Georgia Tech.

Georgia Tech vs Wake Forest Prediction & Preview

According to Joe Lunardi’s latest bracketology posted on X on Monday, the Demon Deacons are among the last four teams in the NCAA Tournament. Wake Forest is treading water, but they can help themselves out with a win over Georgia Tech.

The Demon Deacons already have a win over the Yellow Jackets as they blew them out 80-51 last month at McCamish Pavilion. Wake Forest had six players score in double figures, including Cameron Hildreth, who dropped a team-high 17 points.

The Demon Deacons struggled to shoot the ball from three-point range (23.8 percent), but they played well on the defensive end. The Yellow Jackets were held to 28.3 percent shooting from the field and 12.5 percent from beyond the arc.

Wake Forest returns home to Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum on Tuesday, where they are a perfect 15-0. The last time we saw the Demon Deacons in front of their home crowd, they defeated Duke by four points.

On the other hand, Georgia Tech hasn’t played well on the road this season (3-8). The Yellow Jackets have lost four out of their last five games by an average of 11.3 points per game.

The Jackets lean on Miles Kelly, who leads the team with 14.4 points. However, the Deacons will need to keep an eye on Kowacie Reeves Jr., who is scoring 10.1 points per game on 41.2 percent shooting from the field and 38.1 percent from three-point range.

Neither ACC squad has played well over the last 10 games (Wake Forest 5-5, Georgia Tech 4-6), but we should expect the Demon Deacons’ offense to get back on track against the Yellow Jackets’ defense, which allows 75.6 points per game.

The ACC hasn’t been easy this season, as anybody can lose on any night. However, the Demon Deacons cannot afford any more losses if they want to punch their ticket to the big dance.

My final score prediction: Wake Forest 84 – Georgia Tech 65
