Former Duke star Jabari Parker, originally the second overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft, is reportedly attempting an NBA comeback and could soon sign with the Milwaukee Bucks.

Parker is currently under contract with FC Barcelona for two more seasons but has an opt-out clause to return to the NBA. However, Pro Basketball Writers Association award winner Gery Woelfel believes Parker could take advantage of that wrinkle.

With Milwaukee facing roster uncertainty after a disappointing early playoff exit, bringing Parker back to the organization that drafted him suddenly feels like a realistic possibility.

Former Duke Star Jabari Parker Drawing Interest from NBA Teams

Woelfel writes, "Some NBA officials who watched Parker play last season claim he may be in the best shape of his pro career. Parker, who played at around 255 pounds with the Bucks, is now around 230 pounds. Parker, who is 29, gave strong consideration to returning to the Bucks last summer before signing with Barcelona."

Parker has played for six different NBA teams throughout his career, though he may be impactful enough following his injuries to push for playing time in Milwaukee. He averaged 19.1 points and 8.7 rebounds per game during his lone season as a Blue Devil but struggled to carry that production to the pros.

"The Bucks are in dire need of adding more good players and Parker would be a viable option, considering how restricted the Bucks are financially," Woelfel continues. "Parker has drawn interest from several NBA teams and, barring something unexpected, is expected  to meet with several of them soon. The Bucks, Bulls and Suns, sources said, are among those teams."

Whether it's in Milwaukee or another city, Parker deserves an opportunity. It feels like he's been around forever but given he's not even 30 years old yet; there's still plenty of time for Parker's story to end in success.
