Former five-star recruit Sean Stewart entered the transfer portal last month after spending his freshman season with the Duke Blue Devils. Stewart didn’t play a ton as a frosh, averaging 2.6 points and 3.2 rebounds in 8.4 minutes per game.

The former McDonald’s All-American was one of several Blue Devil players who decided to hit the portal after a good 2023-24 season for Duke. However, Stewart has found a new school and will look to showcase his skills which made him one of the top recruits in the country.

Duke News: Former Blue Devil Sean Stewart Transfers to Ohio State

Joe Tipton of On3 Sports reported on Friday that Stewart committed to head coach Jake Diebler and Ohio State.

Stewart is the fourth player the Buckeyes landed in the transfer portal. The three other players Diebler got in the transfer portal were Aaron Bradshaw (Kentucky), Meechie Johnson (South Carolina), and Micah Parrish (San Diego State).

Meanwhile, the Blue Devils likely won’t try to fill Stewart’s spot in the transfer portal as they have a star-studded incoming freshman class. Jon Scheyer will lean on Isaiah Evans, Kon Knueppel, and Darren Harris.

With Stewart on his way to the Big Ten, Scheyer will await the decisions of Chrisitan Reeves, Jaylen Blakes, Jaden Schutt, and TJ Power, who are also in the transfer portal.
