Two former Duke stars are in the airwaves. But this time, it's not for a good reason. In one of the rare public feuds between two Blue Devils, JJ Redick and Austin Rivers have been firing shots at each other.

It all started with Redick criticizing new Milwaukee Bucks head coach Doc Rivers for "making excuses" when things don't go too well. This came on the heels of the Bucks' 3-7 record with Doc in charge and claiming the Milwaukee job "was harder than he thought".

Redick, who played under Rivers in his Clippers days, didn't hold back from criticizing his former coach in his ESPN segment.

JJ Redick Slams Former Coach Doc Rivers

Doc Rivers' son Austin took offense to this criticism. A former teammate of Redick's with the Clippers, Rivers disagreed strongly with his fellow Duke standout's assessment.

Saying that Redick owes a lot to Doc Rivers, who helped the sharpshooter have the best seasons of his career in Los Angeles, Austin underlined his belief that his father is unfairly criticized for his team's playoff losses.

Doc Rivers is the only coach in NBA history to lose three playoff series after leading it 3-1. This has given him the reputation of a playoff choker.

While defending Doc, Austin dealt a low blow to Redick, highlighting his defensive shortcomings and inability to do anything else but shoot.

Redick has managed to build himself a hell of a career for a guy who "only shoots". Redick still holds the Duke all-time record for points and has his jersey up in the rafters at Cameron Indoor Stadium.

We will have more of an answer for whether Austin is right about his father's coaching ability when the Milwaukee Bucks are in the postseason in a few months. However, it's undeniable that Redick has some points in his favor in this discussion.
