Panthers fans are excited about first-round pick Xavier Legette for good reason, as it looks like the former South Carolina star can make a major impact alongside 2023 No. 1 pick Bryce Young, and we've now got our first look at the rookie in a Panthers uniform.

Rookie minicamp begins today for Carolina and while several undrafted rookies could make the roster, Legette is clearly the main attraction.

Take a look at the newest offensive focal point for yourself:

He'll wear No. 17 and join a suddenly exciting offense. Jonathon Brooks and Ja'Tavion Sanders help make up an excellent rookie class, while free-agent acquisition Diontae Johnson joins Legette and Adam Thielen in the wide receiver room.

In his senior season as a Gamecock, Legette caught 71 passes for 1,255 yards and seven TDs. At 6'1" and nearly 220 LBs, he's got the size, speed, and catch radius to develop into a true No. 1 receiver. Given how much the Panthers' offense struggled in 2023, Legette is a much-needed addition.

Minicamp began on Friday and runs through Sunday. We'll get our first glimpses at every rookie, except for Brooks as he recovers from a torn ACL, and it'll be neat to see the class in action.

Carolina is still projected to struggle this season. The Panthers have +790 odds to make the playoffs at FanDuel Sportsbook, but they do play in one of the NFL's worst divisions in the NFC South. If Legette and the other rookies deliver on their collective promise, competitive football will return to Carolina sooner than you think.
