The NCAA Tournament Final Four is here and against all odds, the North Carolina State Wolfpack has made it. Led by fan favorite DJ Burns, NC State is on a Cinderella run for the ages, first winning the ACC Tournament to get the automatic bid, then winning four in a row to set up a match against Purdue on Saturday.

Despite this improbable success, NC State continues to be disrespected by oddsmakers. It looks like DJ Burns will have to keep defying odds to be taken seriously as he is currently +2900 underdogs to win the Final Four Most Outstanding Player award.

DJ Burns Massive Long Shot to Win Most Outstanding Player

There are six players with better odds than Burns to win the prestigious award, four of them from UCONN.

Donovan Clingan and Tristen Newton being favored over Burns is understandable but in what scenario is Stephon Castle winning the award? UCONN is going to win the title but all three of their best players are going to underperform so a freshman guard will win the award? Seems highly unlikely.

But somehow oddsmakers at FanDuel Sportsbook think that that's likelier than DJ Burns being the best player on the floor for two more games.

Yes, NC State has a mountain to climb. Purdue and Zach Edey have looked unstoppable all year. But crazier things have happened, such as NC State making the Final Four.
