New Charlotte Hornets head coach Charles Lee is already putting his coaching staff together as he tries to turn around this franchise.
On Friday, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported that Charlotte is hiring Utah Jazz assistant Lamar Skeeter as the top assistant on Lee’s staff. Skeeter spent a decade with the Jazz under head coaches Quin Snyder and Will Hardy, working his way up the ranks as a development coach and a lead assistant.

This is a slam-dunk hire for Lee as Skeeter has a ton of pro basketball experience not just with the Jazz. Before landing in Utah in 2014, Skeeter was an assistant under Mike Budenholzer in Atlanta and spent some time in the NBA D-League at the time with the Canton Charge.
It doesn’t come as a surprise to see Lee take a chance on Skeeter, as the new Hornets head coach was an assistant over the last 11 years with the Boston Celtics, Milwaukee Bucks, and Hawks.
With Steve Clifford moving into the front office and Lee taking over, the Hornets are starting to forge a new identity heading into the 2024-25 season. Charlotte fans should be excited as the team has a new head coach and could snag the No. 1 overall pick in the NBA Draft Lottery on Sunday.
