The ACC tournament is finally here and all 15 teams in the conference will be seeking automatic bids to the NCAA Tournament. The conference play has been dominated by North Carolina and Duke throughout the season but other teams will be making their case to the committee with their tournament play.

NC State was one of those teams all season that could have made a tournament bid with a late-season push. However, they squandered that chance by falling apart in the last two weeks with four straight losses.

After finishing ACC play 9-11, the Wolfpack made it really difficult for themselves to make a deep postseason run. However, they have an excellent opportunity to win at least one round as they take on the 3-17 Louisville Cardinals.

NC State fell off after a strong 4-1 start to ACC play earlier in the season. Their defense took an especially significant step back as they allowed over 75 points in seven of their last eight games.

Fortunately for them, however, the Cardinals don't have the ability to put up points on the board. They are the worst-shooting team in the ACC, making shockingly few threes. They hit 5.3 threes per game on less than 30% accuracy from downtown.

It's hard to see Louisville take advantage of NC State's porous defense. D.J. Horne may single handedly have more offensive juice than the entire Cardinals offense.

The Wolfpack is more talented up and down the roster, and that will show in a neutral court setting.
