Adam Thielen Possibly Planting Seeds for Vikings Return With New Comments
By Joe Summers
The Carolina Panthers are going into the new season with a new coaching staff after a terrible 2023 season that saw the team go 2-15.
Dan Morgan, Dave Canales, and the organization hope that Bryce Young takes a jump in his sophomore campaign after they invested in the offense this offseason.
The Panthers signed guards Damien Lewis and Robert Hunt before trading for Diontae Johnson. Carolina then took WR Xavier Legette, RB Jonathan Brooks, and TE Ja'Tavion Sanders during the 2024 NFL draft.
Despite the Panthers reloading for 2024, former Vikings WR Adam Thielen seems to be planting seeds for a potential reunion with Minnesota.
Adam Thielen Has High Praise for JJ McCarthy
Thielen teased the Vikings fanbase when he posted on his Instagram account of him working out with McCarthy. He was seen catching passes from the rookie which caught the eye of Minnesota's fans.
On July 1, Thielen was a guest on Vikings play-by-play announcer Paul Allen on his daily radio show on KFXN-FM. On his appearance, Thielen spoke highly of McCarthy.
"He's got all the tools, that's for sure. He can sling it [and] he's super accurate. We're wearing shorts and t-shirts out there, but you can [still] see a lot, just from accuracy, timing, and those kinda things when you're running routes on air. He's a great kid. You don't really realize that he's 21-years-old when you're talking to him [and] when you're hanging around him. He's got a maturity about him that you can tell goes beyond his age."

This statement in combination with working out with McCarthy certainly opens the door to rumors. Thielen played with the Vikings for nine seasons from 2014-2022, where he produced some great numbers.
He racked up 534 receptions (776 targets) for 6,682 receiving yards and 55 touchdowns. The 34-year-old is currently on the Carolina Panthers after signing a three-year, $25 million deal back in 2023.
Despite that, it looks like he's paving the way for a potential reunion with the Vikings.
