2. Terrace Marshall Jr. - WR

A 2021 second-round pick out of LSU, Terrace Marshall Jr. had high expectations when he was drafted but unfortunately, hasn't come close to meeting them. He caught just 19 passes for 129 yards in nine games in 2023, even receiving permission to seek a trade midseason.

It's easy to see the writing on the wall here. The Panthers already brought in Diontae Johnson to serve as the de facto No. 1, while 2023 second-round pick Jonathan Mingo passed Marshall Jr. on the depth chart.

Considering betting odds forecast Carolina selecting another receiver with their first pick in the draft, Marshall Jr. does not feel like a probable candidate for a contract extension when his rookie deal ends after this year.

Marshall Jr. showed some promise over the last few years, notably averaging 17.5 yards per catch in 2022. His flashes have come too inconsistently though, and Carolina is better off adding more receivers than waiting for the fourth-year player to develop.

It's possible that Marshall Jr. finds his stride in the new offense under Dave Canales, but I'd guess he'll be looking for a new team in the offseason.
