Plus, he is a Charlotte native due to his father Dell's connection to the area, so having a hometown kid around as the older vet in the locker room certainly has its benefits.

But, at this stage of his career, the 33-year-old sharpshooter might prefer to chase a ring. The Hornets have years before they can field a serious playoff contender and Curry will likely have retired by then. Cutting him in the offseason and letting him sign with a playoff team might make the most sense for both sides.
