2. Bryce Young

There’s a lot of pressure on Young to perform this season after a rookie year, which wasn’t all his fault. Former head coach Frank Reich and his offensive coaching staff did not put him in a position to succeed and he got beat up behind a poor offensive line.

The former No. 1 pick completed 59.8 percent of his passes for 2,877 yards, 11 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions. Young was also sacked 62 times last season.

However, the good news for Young is that he has a better offensive-minded head coach and Carolina’s front office made sure to upgrade the offensive line and add weapons at the skill positions in the offseason.

Thus far, Young has made a ton of strides in his second year, becoming more of a leader and being more aggressive. The former Alabama quarterback has reportedly drawn rave reviews from new Panthers receiver Diontae Johnson and veteran defensive end Jadeveon Clowney.

Johnson noticed that Young was making quicker reads, while Clowney pointed out how the young quarterback was making plays and going about his business.

With many football fans looking past the Panthers, that might be a good thing for Young as he has the weapon to make that jump in Year 2 and be mentioned in the same breath as Houston Texans QB C.J. Stroud.
