3 Top Prospects Who Could Surprisingly Fall to Panthers at No. 33

The Carolina Panthers do not have a first-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft but a first-round talent could fall into their laps at No. 33 overall to kick off Day 2.

2. Xavier Worthy, WR, Texas

The 6-foot-1 wide receiver could be available at the top of the second round if there’s an influx of cornerbacks and defensive linemen taken in the later half of the first round.

The Panthers would love for Worthy to fall to them as he would be a true deep threat for their offense, which they don’t have in Johnson and Thielen. Johnson and Thielen can create chunk plays in the passing game, but they don’t possess that game-breaking speed Worthy has.

The former Texas Longhorn standout set the NFL combine on fire, running a record-breaking 40-yard dash time of 4.21 seconds. Any time you see a wide receiver with skills who can run that fast, it will get the attention of fans and teams.

Last season, Worthy had a great year for the Longhorns as they won the Big 12 title and went on to the College Football Playoff.

The speedy receiver recorded 75 receptions (career-high) for 1,014 yards and five touchdowns as a junior. Worthy has the speed, acceleration, and route running that makes you believe he can be a star in the NFL sooner rather than later.
