3 Prospects Panthers Should Trade Up For in NFL Draft

The Carolina Panthers do not have a first-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, but they have two second-round picks, which could help them move up for a player that they want.

2. Xavier Legette, WR

Legette is another receiver who could be drafted in that late first-round range, who the Panthers reportedly have a ton of interest in.

ESPN’s Matt Miller wrote that the former South Carolina wideout’s pro day was heavily attended by the Panthers’ front office and coaching staff and the team met with Legette twice during the Senior Bowl.

Legette put on a show at the NFL combine, running a 4.39 40-yard dash, which is impressive for a 6-foot-1, 223-pound receiver.

The second-team All-SEC pass catcher had an outstanding 2023 season, where he recorded 71 receptions for 1,255 yards and seven touchdowns. Legette is an explosive playmaker who can score anywhere on the field and play any of the various WR spots. He could also get on the field immediately as a kick returner this coming season.

Nonetheless, I believe Legette should be available for the Panthers at No. 33 overall, but we know at the end of the first round anything can happen. If there’s a huge run of wide receivers with Worthy, Brian Thomas, and Adonai Mitchell all going off the board, Legette could slip into the first round.
