3. New York Knicks - Pick No. 24

I'd be surprised if Jared McCain fell out of the top 20, but his slide would likely stop at the New York Knicks if that happens. The Knicks are loaded with big-game hunters like Jalen Brunson, Josh Hart, and Donte DiVencenzo. McCain didn't go to Villanova like those guys did, though he's clearly proven capable of raising his game in marquee moments.

He scored 19 points in the ACC Tournament against North Carolina, 30 (with eight three-pointers) in the second round of the NCAA Tournament in a win over James Madison, and then another 32 in Duke's season-ending loss to NC State in the Elite Eight. When the lights are brightest, McCain tends to shine.

Krysten Peek of Yahoo Sports mocked McCain to the Knicks, noting, "McCain could come in and lead the second unit with his high IQ and how well he shoots from 3-point range. He is one of the most coachable players in this draft and has won at every level of his career, so bringing McCain in and playing behind Brunson could possibly turn into a one-two punch for the Knicks."

New York has its core in place. Now, the franchise just needs to find the right surrounding talent to push through and build on this year's magical run. McCain's ability to space the floor should open up driving lanes for guys like Brunson and Hart, and he's an underrated passer and rebounder as well.

The downside of picking in the 20s is you're typically betting on upside that late in the first round. If McCain falls, the Knicks would have the luxury of getting a projectable prospect they could feel comfortable expecting to contribute.

No matter who selects McCain, his future in the NBA certainly appears bright.
