One of the biggest priorities for the Panthers this offseason was to improve the offensive line. Keeping their franchise quarterback upright to give him a chance to prove himself, the Panthers went all out in free agency, adding Damien Lewis and Robert Hunt to their offensive line. Signing these two starting guards means that Brady Christensen is out of favor with the organization.

Christensen was Carolina's third-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. He took the starting left tackle job as a rookie, then switched to left guard in his second season, starting in all 17 games for Carolina. In 2023, he suffered a biceps injury that kept him out after Week 1.

Now, the former BYU standout projects to be a backup. However, the Panthers also added Yosh Nijman from the Green Bay Packers whose versatility gives him the option to back whichever offensive line position up as needed. This makes Christensen superfluous for the Panthers.

Trading Christensen is not going to net the Panthers a super valuable draft pick. However, the Panthers need to take as many flyers as possible in this draft since they are short on talent across most positions. Move Christensen for a late-round pick, select the best player available with it, and hope you get a steal.
