3. Jadeveon Clowney

With the Panthers shockingly trading star pass rusher Brian Burns to the New York Giants this offseason, they needed a quality pass rusher to fill that void. Carolina decided to sign Clowney to a two-year, $20 million contract.

The 31-year-old outside linebacker has produced 12 total tackles and a sack through the first games, which isn’t horrible given Carolina’s defense. It might be hard for Carolina to move the veteran defender as he has a $14 million cap hit in 2025.

However, Clowney’s contract has an out in it after this season, so it could entice a team looking to add an experienced pass rusher. Before Carolina this offseason, Clowney had 9.5 sacks with the Baltimore Ravens in 2023.

Unlike Sanders and Johnson, Carolina might not get a high Day 3 pick (fourth round) in return for the veteran defender. But the Panthers would likely take a fifth-round pick as they look to continue to rebuild this defense.
