3 Noteworthy Observations From UNC's Blowout Win Over Florida State

3. Elliot Cadeau Deserves His Flowers
With respect to Bacot, Davis and Ingram, Elliot Cadeau was the best player on the floor in the first half for North Carolina. After struggling in big games during the season, Cadeau's hustle plays invigorated the Tar Heels when Florida State kept things close. He's a legitimate "X-Factor" for this team and could be the key ingredient for a deep postseason run.
Cadeau finished the game with eight points, six assists, four rebounds, three steals and a block. Critically, he had only two turnovers and one foul. He was the spark plug that championship teams often see rise in huge moments. Overall, it was perhaps Cadeau's finest performance of the season given the circumstances.
It was obvious from the opening tip that North Carolina wanted this game. They weren't going to meander through the motions and trust that talent would win out. Instead, they went out and took the victory. No player better embodied that attitude than the floor-diving Cadeau.
The freshman now has a ridiculous eight steals in his last three games, providing a huge boost to a Tar Heels defense that's already among the best in the country.
If Cadeau can keep this effort up to support the veteran, established stars on North Carolina's roster, the rest of the country should be terrified of what this Tar Heels team can be.
