The North Carolina State Wolfpack had a season that no one saw coming. Only a month ago, they were the tenth seed in the first round of the ACC Tournament, getting ready to call it a season. Fast forward a month, and they became the darlings of the NCAA Tournament, putting together one of the most incredible runs we have seen in March Madness history.

It may have not ended the way they intended as they fell to Purdue in the Final Four but this team will be remembered for a long time.

However, this loss also signaled the end for a few key players, who will not be returning to NC State next season. Let's take a look.

Casey Morsell

Despite being a transfer from Virginia, the senior guard is one of the longest-tenured Wolfpacks, finishing out his third season. Casey Morsell has been criticized by NC State fans at times for his shot selection and inefficiency from the field but he is the heart and soul of this team in many ways.

Morsell generally had the toughest perimeter assignment on the team, navigating screens, and trying to defend the best guard on the opposing team. He always played hard and bigger than his 6'3 size indicated.

He played every single game this season and averaged the most minutes out of anyone on the team. His leadership, pick-and-roll ability, and hard-nosed defense will sorely be missed next season.
