3 Former Panthers Carolina Should Sign for a Reunion in Free Agency

The Panthers need plenty of help this offseason, and reunions with a few familiar faces could be exactly what the doctor ordered.

2. Morgan Fox

Alright, this one doesn't fall under "Bryce Young support," but it's a reunion that makes a ton of sense anyway.

Even with Brian Burns back under the franchise tag, this team needs pass-rushing help both on the edge and the inside. And Morgan Fox is someone who can offer both.

Fox isn't a free agent yet, but he's a cap casualty cut candidate for the Los Angeles Chargers with an easy out on his contract this offseason. And Carolina would do well to bring him back.

I'm torn between calling him a versatile or a one-dimensional player. Fox is terrible in run defense, and you can't bring him in and expect him to play every down. But his ability to generate pressure up the middle and off the edge makes it very easy to get on the field on passing downs.

Panthers fans might not remember Fox fondly. After recording five sacks with the Rams in 2020, he posted 1.5 across 17 games in 2021. But after that, he had 6.5 and 5.5 in 2022 and 2023 for the Chargers.

Don't let the fact that his one down year came in Carolina sour you. Fox is a legit pass-rush threat, and he should be available on the cheap.
