2. Grant Hill

The 1990-91 and 1991-92 teams hold a special place for all Duke fans. In those two seasons, the Blue Devils went 66-9, while winning back-to-back titles. Grant Hill played a major role in those championships as a highly efficient all-around forward.

After winning two titles in his first two years in Durham, Hill became the best college player in the nation in his final two seasons there. Despite losing his running mates Bobby Hurley and Christian Laettner, Hill carried the 1994 team to the national championship game, his third in four years. Despite losing to Arkansas in the final, Hill had established himself as one of the greatest Duke figures of all-time.

His career averages of 14.9 points, 6 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 1.7 steals, and a block per game separate him as one of the best college players ever.

1. Christian Laettner

On paper, one can make the argument that Hill, Williamson, Redick, or Williams were better players than Christian Laettner. However, it's tough to make the argument that Laettner wasn't the most iconic and memorable Blue Devil of all time.

Embodying the Duke persona better than anybody else, Laettner was one of the most polarizing figures in sports during his college basketball days. You either loved him or hated him and Duke fans had plenty of reasons to love him.

A two-time NCAA champion with the greatest shot of all time, Laettner carried Duke to the Final Four all four years he was there. He played over 148 games for Duke, averaging 16.6 points and 7.8 rebounds per game while clearly being the best player in the country in most of that time.
