The Panthers have only a month to properly evaluate whether or not QB Bryce Young is the 2025 starter. Based on a recent report from Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, it sounds like Carolina has already made its decision.

Nothing is set in stone, though Young has been impressive in recent weeks as he's reclaimed control of the team's starting job.

While benching the former No. 1 overall selection looked questionable at the time, it's lit a fire under Young. Based on this evaluation, it sounds like he's done enough to remain the starting signal caller.

New Bryce Young Panthers Report Emerges Before NFL Draft

"I think everyone in the world assumed, 'Well, that's over'", Rapoport said regarding Young's time with the organization after getting benched. "Now that he's back in the lineup and has gone 2-2, from my understanding, he's gone a long way in showing this Panthers organization whey they took him No. 1 overall.

It's hard to argue with Young's results in recent weeks. He hasn't thrown an interception over his last two games and nearly knocked off the vaunted Chiefs, signaling that perhaps he just needed a better offensive system and stronger confidence to make an impact.

"He's getting in-and-out of the huddle better, he's diagnosing defenses better...he's playing better," Rapoport continued. "Do not expect the Carolina Panthers to draft a quarterback early next year."

Most fans assumed Young's replacement would be selected with the inevitable high draft pick that Carolina will have. Apparently, that's not the case.

It's fair to believe this is a mistake. Young has a limited time left on his rookie contract, zapping a lot of the benefit of having such a top pick in the first place. If the organization is just trying to avoid another long rebuild, the decision is a laughable one.

On the other hand, if Young has shown enough to remain the franchise player, then the Panthers deserve props for sticking by him.
