Panthers Legend Teases Surprise NFL Return

As the NFL playoffs continue, the rest of the league is desperately looking to fill their vacant positions in the coaching staff and the front office. For the first time in a while, the Carolina Panthers are retaining the same decision-makers for another season.
Interviews and hiring processes are taking place in the rest of the NFL and one former Panthers legend recently made the case for himself. Greg Olsen, who has been a commentator with Fox Sports since his retirement, revealed his desire to be in a front office or coaching role. In his appearance on ESPN Chicago's Waddle & Silvy show, the star tight end sounded very confident in his ability to be a decision-maker in the NFL.
Greg Olsen Ready to Return to the NFL in a Coaching or Front Office Role
Olsen admits that he would be very willing to accept a role with the Chicago Bears, his first team in the NFL. The Bears are making radical changes in the offseason, including hiring a new head coach and offensive coordinator. Even though Olsen's name is not generally rumored to be in the mix for the Bears, his public reveal could turn some attention towards him.
The former Panthers legend was part of the No. 1 pairing on Fox Sports alongside Kevin Burkhardt, calling the Super Bowl broadcast. After Tom Brady's hiring, Olsen was demoted to a less prominent role, which could be playing a part in his desire to switch careers.
During his playing years, Olsen was one of the best players in his position, putting up three straight 1,000+ yard seasons and Pro Bowl appearances. In the segment, the 14-year veteran said that he would put his NFL experience up there against anybody's. Whether the rest of the league sees it that way and gives him a chance, however, remains to be seen.
