The Carolina Panthers are coming off a thrilling win over the New Orleans Saints in Week 9 and preparing to play the New York Giants on Sunday in Munich, Germany.

The Panthers hope to have rookie running back Jonathon Brooks for Sunday’s game. The 21-year-old running back was designated to return to practice last month after being placed on the non-football injured list in the summer.

The former University of Texas star running back suffered a torn ACL last November and has yet to play an NFL snap. However, Brooks’ debut could be on the horizon.

On Wednesday, ESPN’s David Newton reported that Brooks was among several players listed as full participants. Newton also said to look for Carolina to activate the rookie running back to the active roster today.

If the Panthers activate the rookie playmaker, it’s not guaranteed he’ll play against the Giants this weekend. But it’s a good sign that Brooks should see the field soon.

This season, Carolina’s backfield is led by veteran running back Chuba Hubbard, who has 665 rushing yards and five touchdowns on 133 carries. However, they haven’t got much production from veteran Miles Sanders.

Brooks’ return will likely push Sanders down the depth chart and potentially off the roster in the offseason. Carolina fans thought Sanders would be moved at the NFL trade deadline, but it did not happen.

Panthers fans cannot wait to see how Brooks looks, especially with the emergence of rookies Xavier Legette and Jalen Coker in the passing game.
