The Carolina Panthers showed intriguing signs of improvement and being on the right track in the 2024 season. They are obviously nowhere near where they want to be, but they are in a much better place than where they were after the 2-15 campaign the year prior.

One of the biggest reasons for that was the improvement of Bryce Young. The former No. 1 overall pick played the best football of his young career after taking over from Andy Dalton during the season. He led the Panthers to a 4-8 record in 12 starts, throwing for 15 touchdowns and nine interceptions while adding 249 yards and six touchdowns on the ground.

His performance was finally able to convince the Panthers front office that he is the quarterback of the future for the franchise. In his appearance on the Up and Adams Show with Kay Adams, the talented signal-caller revealed the details of his relationship with GM Dan Morgan. These details highlight the fact that the Panthers have finally begun to treat him as the franchise QB.

The 23-year-old revealed that he and Morgan have a "very open" line of communication. The front office apparently asks Young for his input on certain decisions. This shows true commitment to the young quarterback and removes any question marks about what the organization has in mind for the former Alabama star.

Young will unequivocally start the season as the QB1, and it's hard to imagine him getting benched early in the season like he did in 2024. Andy Dalton is a free agent this offseason, and the Panthers have to make a decision on whether to re-sign him or bring in a different veteran QB as Young's backup. Regardless of who is the QB2, the starting role is Young's to lose for the foreseeable future.
