Panthers Finally Give Bryce Young Some Good News During Bye Week
The Carolina Panthers own a 3-7 record but have won two games in a row. Last week, the Panthers traveled to Germany and beat the New York Giants 20-17 in overtime.
Carolina has stacked two consecutive wins while losing multiple offensive playmakers. The Panthers are on a bye in Week 11, but they have some great news regarding Adam Thielen. Carolina activated Thielen from the injured reserve list on Tuesday, which bodes well for quarterback Bryce Young.
Panthers News: Adam Thielen Activated From IR
The Panthers put Thielen on injured reserve in September after he hurt his hamstring in Week 3 against the Las Vegas Raiders while catching a touchdown pass.
The team designated him to return to practice on Oct. 23, where he practiced for a week. Despite that, he hasn't been on the field since Week 9. Carolina had to activate him off the list today or he would be stuck on injured reserve for the remainder of the season.
Getting Thielen back in the fold will be huge for Young and the offense. Xavier Legette, Jalen Coker, and David Moore were the only three WRs on the active roster. They shipped out Diontae Johnson and Jonathan Mingo ahead of the trade deadline.
The 34-year-old Thielen will give Young a reliable and savvy weapon in the passing attack. In 20 games with the Panthers, Thielen has logged 111 catches for 1,123 yards and five touchdowns.
The Panthers need the former Minnesota State product out on the field. The rest of the season is about seeing what these young guys have and Thielen will help make Young's life easier.
