The Carolina Panthers returned home on Sunday after a tough six-point road loss against the Philadelphia Eagles last week. Carolina was hoping to snap their three-game losing skid against the Dallas Cowboys.

However, that didn’t come to fruition as the Panthers got hammered 30-14 by Dallas. Carolina starting quarterback Bryce Young has played well since returning to the starting lineup in Week 8 against the Denver Broncos.

Young’s luck ran out against Mike Zimmer’s defense as he completed 19-of-28 passes for 219 yards, a touchdown pass, and two interceptions. The second-year quarterback also had two lost fumbles.

While the turnovers weren’t great, Young’s pass protection wasn’t much better as the Cowboys sacked him six times. Even though he struggled on Sunday, head coach Dave Canales isn’t ready to make a drastic change at QB.

Panthers News: Bryce Young to Start in Week 16 vs. Arizona

According to ESPN’s David Newton, head coach Dave Canales told reporters after Sunday’s game that Young will remain the team’s starting quarterback.

It’s not shocking that Canales is sticking with Young as today’s performance against Dallas was an outlier compared to what he’s done over the last few weeks. Heading into this week's game, Young only had three interceptions.

The last time Young threw two INTs in a game was in Week 8 against the Broncos. Coincidentally, the Panthers lost that game 28-14.

With only three games left in the regular season, Carolina must stick with Young to see if he’s the guy. Based on how he’s played in the second half of the season, the Panthers have a starting quarterback.

However, Canales will likely want to see how Young bounces back against the Arizona Cardinals at home next week.

Young must be better with his decision-making, and the Panthers' o-line must keep the pocket clean. At any level of football, no one quarterback can thrive if he's getting sacked 5-6 times during a game.
