The Carolina Panthers returned to practice on Monday as they prepare to play the back-to-back Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs in Week 12.

The Panthers are coming off a much-needed bye in Week 11 after ripping off two-straight wins over the New Orleans Saints and New York Giants. Second-year quarterback Bryce Young has played well during this mini-win streak and since he returned to the starting lineup in Week 8.

The former No. 1 overall pick is completing 62.5 percent of his passes for 521 yards, four touchdowns, and three interceptions over the last three games.

Based on his recent play, Carolina should stick with Young. However, Panthers head coach Dave Canales did not announce who would start after their Week 10 win over the Giants.

On Monday, Canales told reporters Young will start on Sunday against the Chiefs, per Sheena Quick of FOX Sports Radio 1340 AM. The first-year head coach highlighted Young’s aggressive and confident play in Germany.

After being surprisingly benched earlier this season, Young has looked like a different QB. The game looks like it has slowed down for the young quarterback. He’s not forcing bad plays, but instead taking what the defense is giving him.

It also helps to have a tremendous running game led by Chuba Hubbard, who has been one of the better running backs in the NFL. And the Panthers’ running game will be getting a boost with the debut of rookie Jonathon Books.

That said, Young and the Panthers’ offense have a tough test on Sunday against a Chiefs team that suffered its first loss on Sunday to the Buffalo Bills. However, if Young plays within himself and makes plays when available, Carolina should be in good shape.
