The Carolina Panthers 2024 season has been an absolute roller coaster. First-year head coach Dave Canales is tasked with rebuilding and leading this roster.

The Panthers are 3-11 on the season and have lost four straight games. They are focused on finishing the regular season strong and head into the offseason with momentum.

Carolina will have their hands full as they look to improve this roster, but reports are already being leaked on potential spots they seek to get better at.

Panthers Already Eyeing Key Offseason Upgrade Per Latest Rumor

ESPN's David Newton revealed that the Panthers are going to "actively look for an edge rusher" in the offseason. They will use free agency and the draft to find upgrades at the position. It's not a shocker that this will be a point of emphasis for this group.

Carolina is tied for 30th in the NFL in team sacks (26). There are zero defenders with at least five sacks on the season, which puts immense pressure on the secondary to hold up in coverage. Back in March, the Panthers shipped Brian Burns to the New York Giants for a 2024 second-round pick and a 2025 fifth-round pick.

With Burns no longer on the team and Derrick Brown done for the year, there is no juice upfront for the Panthers.

Carolina will have around $34 million in cap space per Spotrac. That's certainly enough money if they want to hand out a lucrative deal in free agency. They are also going to own a Top 10 pick in the NFL Draft and will have a chance to add an impactful EDGE rusher.

The Panthers' roster has multiple holes on it, and they've already indicated pass rusher as a position of need.

Carolina has the Arizona Cardinals, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Atlanta Falcons left on the schedule as they look to finish out the year on a high note.
