The Carolina Panthers are 3-7 on the season and had a bye in Week 11. They've won two games in a row and have the Kansas City Chiefs next on the schedule.

The Panthers will be looking to build on their win streak but it'll be a tough task. The Chiefs just picked up their first loss of the season and will be coming out firing as they look to get back into the win column.

Carolina will be getting reinforcements in this contest, as rookie running back Jonathan Brooks is expected to make his NFL debut. While that is great for him and the fanbase to see, this isn't the ideal game to start his career.

The Chiefs have one of the best defenses in the league. They are fifth in the NFL in total defense (297.5) and third in run defense (85.3). Kansas City only gives up 3.6 yards per carry.

That is a tough first contest for Brooks, who will serve as RB2 behind Chubba Hubbard. Brooks will be the fourth rookie running back to play against the Chiefs in 2024. Audric Estime had 14 carries for 53 yards, Bucky Irving logged seven carries for 24 yards, and Ray Davis notched five carries for 11 yards.

The Chiefs' stout run defense in combination with the lack of success rookie running backs have showcased this season, it'll be a difficult first game for Brooks.

The Texas product was selected in the second round of the 2024 NFL Draft and the team has high hopes for him. He'll get the first chance to show something, but the odds are he will struggle in this contest.
