The Carolina Panthers are looking ahead to the offseason after finishing with a 5-12 record. This was a positive step forward for a team rebuilding. One of the bright spots to close out the season was the play of quarterback Bryce Young.

Young finished the season with 2,403 passing yards and 15 passing touchdowns. He threw a passing score in 10 straight games and will look to build on it this offseason. Although Young is the QB1, the Panthers will need a QB2.

Andy Dalton, 37, is going to hit free agency. Carolina will need to fill that void and they were named as a potential destination for Zach Wilson by ESPN.

Panthers Rumors: Carolina Named a Potential Landing Spot for Zach Wilson

ESPN's staff dropped an article talking about free agency, draft, and other predictions for all 32 teams in the league. Benjamin Solak's prediction for Carolina is that they could consider adding Wilson.

"The Panthers will run it back with quarterback Bryce Young in 2025 given his strong finish to the season, but they'd be wise to get another dice roll at QB2 if things go left for him. What about Zach Wilson, who is a free agent and plays a similar game to Young as an undersized, creative and mobile quarterback? He would be the right sort of gamble."

Wilson, who was the No. 2 overall pick by the New York Jets in the 2021 NFL Draft, is going to be a free agent. Things didn't work out for him in New York so after three seasons, he was shipped out to Denver.

In 34 career games, the BYU product has completed 57% of his throws for 6,293 yards with 23 passing touchdowns and 25 interceptions. There's a reason why he was traded to the Broncos and didn't log a snap this season. He needed a reset mentally but the 25-year-old has intriguing physical tools.

He has a very strong arm and can make plays off-script. Wilson could be an interesting choice to backup Young in 2025. Nobody would be upset if they gave Wilson a one-year deal to be QB2.
