2. Miles Sanders, Running Back

Talk about a signing that didn't work out for the Panthers. Miles Sanders joined the Panthers in the 2024 offseason on the heels of a 1,269-yard Pro Bowl season with the Eagles. After scoring 11 touchdowns and averaging 4.9 yards per carry in Philadelphia, Sanders has been nowhere near that level over the last two years.

Many expected Sanders to be a cut candidate in the 2024 offseason but the veteran rusher somehow survived the spring and returned for another year in Carolina. The fact that his salary was already guaranteed was a big reason why. He will most likely not be as lucky this time around.

Until the final week of the season, Sanders was used very sparingly. In the Week 18 clash against the Falcons, Sanders ran for a season-high 66 yards and scored his second TD of the year. He finished the season with 205 rushing yards and a 3.7 yards per carry average.

Not only has Chuba Hubbard emerged as a true star this season, the Panthers also used a second-round pick on Jonathon Brooks in 2024. While Brooks' rookie season was riddled with injuries, Carolina wants to see him in action to check out what he is capable of.

That leaves no room for Sanders. The Panthers can save up to $5.3 million if they cut him, making this a no-brainer decision for the front office.
