Now that Super Bowl 59 is in the books, it's officially time for the NFL offseason. Admittedly, Panthers fans have been in offseason mode for a while now but we are finally getting closer to the draft and free agency.
While the Panthers took some steps forward last season, they still have plenty of holes to fill. As important as the decision for which prospects and free agents to target is the decision on which players to part ways from.
If you are a team like the Panthers, who haven't had a winning season in seven years, these decisions are even more critical. It would be wise for GM Dan Morgan to part ways with the following players.
1. Jordan Fuller, Defensive Back
When the Panthers signed Fuller in the 2024 offseason, it was considered to be a bargain deal. The talented safety had shown intriguing flashes in his four years with the Los Angeles Rams and he was reuniting with Ejiro Evero, who was his safeties coach in Los Angeles.
Things didn't work out for Fuller in Carolina. He had the worst season of career, receiving a 53.8 grade on PFF. After a series of underwhelming performances throughout the year, Fuller eventually lost his starting role to undrafted free agent Demani Richardson. Fuller was a healthy scratch for two weeks in a row and Richardson stepped up in his absence.
Evero somehow retained his role as the defensive coordinator, but Fuller may not be so lucky.
