5 Panthers Leaving Carolina in the New Year
3. Jordan Fuller, S
Safety Jordan Fuller signed with the Panthers on a one-year, $3.25 million deal after spending four seasons with the Los Angeles Rams.
Carolina thought they were getting an athletic playmaker on the back end, but it was the complete opposite. Per PFF, Fuller had a 52.2 overall grade (138th out of 166 qualified safeties) and a 45.5 coverage grade (144th out of 166 qualified safeties).
He was one of the worst players at the position in 2024. Fuller was also placed on IR at one point due to a hamstring injury. In eight games this season, he's finished with 46 total tackles with just one pass deflection and zero interceptions.
Not only has he struggled on the field but the Panthers made him a healthy scratch in Weeks 16 and 17. They have given rookie Demani Richardson an extended look over the past couple of weeks. The Texas A&M product has played in 100% snaps against the Arizona Cardinals and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He's finished with 15 total tackles and one interception between those games.
He signed a three-year, $2.8 million deal with Carolina and is slated to make $960,000 in 2025. He's a cheap and productive playmaker on the back end.
Carolina didn't shelve a long-term deal to Fuller, so his shaky play likely ended his tenure with the Panthers.
