5 Panthers Leaving Carolina in the New Year
The Carolina Panthers are going to miss the playoffs for the sixth straight year. In Dave Canales' first season at the helm, the Panthers already doubled their win total from the year before. In 2023, Carolina logged a 2-15 record but entering Week 18, they are 4-12 on the campaign.
There have been a lot of ups and downs over the course of the season. They seek to make improvements over the next couple of months and put out a more competitive team in 2025.
Some guys showed improvement throughout the year, mainly quarterback Bryce Young. His arrow is pointing up going into 2025 but there will be multiple players who won't be on the Panthers next year.
In this article, we'll go through five players who will be leaving Carolina in 2025.
1. Tommy Tremble, TE
Tight end Tommy Tremble was drafted in the third round of the 2021 NFL Draft by the Panthers. He was believed to be a good blocker with the ability to attack the seams and the middle of the field as a pass-catcher.
Despite the hype and expectations, Tremble has been ineffective for this team. Over four seasons in Carolina, Tremble has logged 83 catches (128 targets) for 752 yards and eight touchdowns. He's failed to notch more than 250 receiving yards in any season.
The Panthers decided to bring in Ja'Tavion Sanders in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL Draft, highlighting the lack of faith in Tremble.
According to PFF, Tremble hasn't finished with an overall grade over 55 in any season. With the Notre Dame product slated to hit free agency this spring, there's a high likelihood that he won't be re-signed. They gave him a four-year trial period and he didn't take advantage. Now it's time to move on.
