WR David Moore

Another offensive playmaker who has struggled to meet expectations this season was wide receiver David Moore.

Moore was thrust into a larger role than both he and the Panthers likely envisioned before the season. When he signed for his second stint in Carolina, Moore was behind Xavier Legette, Adam Thielen, Diontae Johnson, and Jonathan Mingo in the pecking order. Injury to Thielen, and the departures of Johnson and Mingo without signing any replacements meant that Moore would have a huge role in the offense.

In fact, the 29-year-old wideout was the only pass-catcher that played every game for Carolina this season and has played the second-most snaps out of the wide receivers on the team.

Unfortunately, he has failed to take advantage of this opportunity. His 63.9 PFF grade ranks 76th among qualified wide receivers in the league.

The Panthers are committed to Xavier Legette and Jalen Coker for the future and Adam Thielen is still under contract for another season. It's hard to justify bringing Moore back when it makes more sense to draft and sign younger wideouts with higher upside.
