Two weeks of NFL free agency are nearly in the books, and several Carolina Panthers free agents have already found new homes.
Safety Xavier Woods and punter Johnny Hekker both left to join the Tennessee Titans, while tight end Feleipe Franks and safety Jordan Fuller will remain in the NFC South with the Atlanta Falcons. That's without mentioning running back Miles Sanders signing with the Dallas Cowboys, or cornerback Lonnie Johnson taking a one-year deal with the Las Vegas Raiders.
It's great that former Carolina players have already found homes for the 2025 season, however, some free agents are still looking. Time can lead to a change of mind, and it isn't unfathomable that the Panthers might be open to a reunion or two now that free agency isn't nearly as fresh.
With that being said, the Panthers still have time to re-sign these three free agents this offseason.
1. Raheem Blackshear, RB
The Panthers' running back room underwent some changes throughout the start of free agency. Although there's no questioning Chuba Hubbard's status as the RB1, Carolina needed a new secondary runner after releasing Miles Sanders, resulting in Rico Dowdle being signed to a one-year contract.
The depth beyond Hubbard and Dowdle is thin, though. Emani Bailey has zero in-game NFL experience after splitting his rookie year between the Panthers and Kansas City Chiefs' practice squads, while Jonathan Brooks' 2025 outlook is in jeopardy after re-tearing his ACL.
With that being said, it wouldn't be shocking if the Panthers re-signed Raheem Blackshear.
After going undrafted in 2022, Blackshear joined the Buffalo Bills practice squad only to be signed off it by the Panthers four months later. The former Virginia Tech RB has since operated as an occasional change-of-pace back while contributing as a returner, too. He's tallied 203 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 52 carries while also turning 23 punt returns into 200 yards.
He also led the NFL with 31 punt returns, racking up 791 yards on those opportunities while playing to a career-high 62.8 punt return grade on Pro Football Focus.
Whether they're looking to add RB depth or bring back a reliable returner, don't be surprised if the Panthers are still interested in Blackshear.
