Hopefully, no one reading this watched any Eagles games this year or has talked to an Eagles fan about Nelson Agholor. The embattled wide receiver became public enemy no. 1 in Philadelphia this season, as his drops derailed an already struggling Eagles’ offense.

Agholor was a first-round pick of the Eagles in the 2015 Draft, something that puzzled many Eagles fans. Former head coach Chip Kelly was often accused of having a fascination with Pac-12 players and as a USC Trojan, Agholor fit the bill. With 104 receptions and 12 touchdowns in his senior year of college, his production matched his draft position.

Agholor struggled in his first two seasons, leading to many calling him a bust. However, he took off in his third season after switching to the slot, finally showing off his talent and becoming a dynamic piece of the Eagles offense during their Super Bowl run.

Alas, Agholor went back to his struggling ways this season, dropping several passes, including an egregious drop that cost the Eagles an early-season win over the Falcons. Suffice it to say, that Agholor is not welcome back in Philadelphia, with fans even making jokes about him during news interviews.

Still, Agholor is only 26 years old and has flashed immense talent in the past. He’s worn out his welcome in Philly but maybe a change of scenery and outside the pressure of a media market like Philadelphia, he could regain some of his magic. Players like Agholor are exactly the type of free agent the Panthers should be targeting.
