With the emergence of the XFL as a legit stage for fringe NFL talent, there will no doubt be some players added to NFL rosters prior to the preseason. Teams like the Panthers will be looking at the top tier talent in the league to try and mine some gems. Carolina could start with a player like Rashad Ross.

Ross is probably a familiar name to Panthers fans. He appeared for the team in the 2019 preseason, catching four passes for 36 yards and a touchdown. He was released in the final round of roster cutdowns in late August.

Now, Ross is emerging as one of the XFL’s top receiving threats. Ross has six receptions for 147 yards and a touchdown through two games with the D.C. Defenders. Led by former Ohio State standout Cardale Jones, Ross is leading the top team in the XFL.

He excelled in a brief stint in the NFL and was the Pro Football Focus’ top-ranked receiver in the short-lived AAF. If his production continues in the XFL, it might warrant bringing Ross back into the fold. At the very least, he is a lottery ticket with return skills.
