Who are realistic targets the Panthers sign to improve the weapons on the offense?

The Panthers have one established playmaker in the wide receivers room: D.J. Moore. The second-year player out of Maryland hauled in 87 targets for 1175 yards and four touchdowns in a breakout season, even with uncertainty at quarterback. The Panthers were hoping for one of Moore and Curtis Samuel to emerge and got their wish, although to be a contending team, they will need to continue adding to the weapons surrounding whoever is taking snaps.

That leads to a pivotal 2020 offseason, where Matt Rhule and his staff will be evaluating, adding and shedding players to fit his vision. Wide receiver is a clear need, but so is the offensive line, tight end and fixing one of the worst run defenses in the league. Without a bounty of cap space, you can count the Panthers out on star free agents like Amari Cooper or A.J. Green. And with so many holes, trading draft capital for a controlled receiver like Stefon Diggs doesn’t make sense either.

This means the Panthers will be left to rummaging through the bargain bin to try and fill in the holes in the receiving corps. If the team brings back Jarius Wright and Chris Hogan, there might only be one or two spots available here and the team could look to fill them through the middle/late rounds of the draft. However, if the team did want to add through free agency, which players would make sense for the Panthers rebuild?
