Loser: New York Giants

Speaking of the Giants, it just keeps getting worse for the Giants fans, doesn’t it? First, your general manager drafts Daniel Jones with the sixth-overall pick in the 2019 NFL draft based on what he saw at the Senior Bowl, then Jones is every bit the turnover machine he was advertised in college, and now you lose your top choice for coach the day he’s supposed to interview for the job? Oof.

Jones showed flashes and with some offensive weapons such as Evan Engram, Darius Slayton and Saquon Barkley on the roster, Rhule would have been a great fit with the team. Now Gettleman moved to make it seem like he’s the smartest man in the room, yet again.

The Giants instead hired Joe Judge, an assistant with the Patriots and special teams coordinator. The Giants missed out on hiring their guy and didn’t even get the one Patriots assistant that everyone wanted, Josh McDaniels.

The Giants lost this one in the worst possible way, especially since former Pats assistants went a combined 17-30-1 combined this season, with Tennessee Titans head coach and former Patriots linebacker contributing to 9 of the 17 combined wins. As bad as this is, it has the potential to get much worse.
